A fast-paced walk that starts off passing through country parks, woodland and the occasional bit of leafy suburbia around Bromley, before then entering the open countryside of the North Downs, then descending to the pictureseque village of Brasted, and finally passing through the Montreal Estate before then finishing at Sevenoaks Town Centre. It is then a further mile to Sevenoaks Railway Station (included in total distance)
A walk that is often undulating with a total ascent of 675 metres. The intention is to walk at a fast pace (at least 3mph average) to hopefully get to the finish before completely losing the light, but please do bring a head torch. The walk is also likely to be very muddy in places - especially if there is heavy rain immediately before or during the walk. The lunch stop will be at the village of Cudham at 8 miles distance, where there are public toilets, as well as a pub for drinks only. There are plenty of pubs / restaurants to choose from in Sevenoaks Town Centre at the end of the walk.
Please bring a packed lunch.
Transport: Take the 9:31 from London Charing Cross (Waterloo East: 9:34, London Bridge: 9:40), arrive at Chislehurst at 10:06. Buy a return to Sevenoaks. Meet outside the main entrance of Chislehurst Railway Station.
