Overview

This walk will explore Ashdown Forest (setting for the Winnie-the-Pooh stories), along with other areas near to East Grinstead.

We’ll head south from East Grinstead, through the golf club and, following a long ascent, will have lunch at Ashdown Forest Visitors’ Centre (which also has toilets).

Working our way eastward, we’ll climb Gill’s Lap, before descending to Pooh Sticks Bridge. We’ll head back to East Grinstead along the Forest Way cycle path - there’s potential for a cafe stop at Forest Row if we get there before 5pm.

The walk will finish at an award-winning tap room.

Bring a packed lunch.
