The first of a set of four walks that follows the Church Stretton Skyline Walk. The Church Stretton Skyline walk goes over all of the hills that you can see from Church Stretton; it is close to 20 miles long.
A great introduction to the Long Mynd, ascents are not too steep and paths are generally good. Some stunning views.
This, the first walk of the four, starts from the first National Trust car park in Batch Valley, on the edge of All Stretton (£2.00 charge for car parking for non-members). We ascend gently up to the ridge that runs along the Long Mynd and the head in a SW direction to Pole Bank (the highest point on the Long Mynd). For today, this is as far as we go along the Church Stretton Skyline. Wonderful views of the hills to come on the remaining sections of the Skyline walk.
