This is a circular walk around Dudley starting from Tipton Railway Station. Its an interesting walk along canal tow paths, footpaths and also some road walking. There is very little mud and most of the paths are very good. There are many points of interest along the way as well as a visit to the Wren's Nest National Nature Reserve.
We shall be stopping for lunch at Mad O'Rourke's Pie factory so I will need to know who intends ordering food in advance. I'll need to let the pub know. We should get to the pub about 1.15 and will have approx. I hours walking left back to the station after lunch. N.B. Due to system limitations you will have to scroll down to find the website link to access the menu.
Mad O'Rourks Pie Factory is a one of a kind. Saw dust on the floor and every conceivable pie you can think of. They are supposed to be world famous!! You can take a look at their menu on line. If we have more than 10 eating I need to pre order so I should be informed of your choice by Monday 17th. WhatsApp or email me your choices on jagumar@hotmail.com
The easiest way to get there will be by train. See below for information regarding times etc. There is free parking at the Railway station if anyone would prefer to drive.
Dudley is a gem of a place with an interesting history, friendly people and well worth a visit. It is over 6 years ago that we last walked over that way and a lot has changed in that time certainly regarding footpaths.
