Overview

We begin our walk by crossing the Tillingbourne stream at Gomshall to follow a route southward via  Albury Heath and Cotterells Farm, then turning eastward towards Hoe. On higher ground near Smoky Hole, a pause to look back at the wide views of the North Downs, weather permitting. The walk continues via Riding Bottom and Hurt Wood to  Hombury St. Mary (pub drinks and toilets at lunch stop).

During the afternoon we return via Abinger Common (passing an 11th century earthwork motte and ditch). Then continue along easy, descending field paths via Raikes Farm and Oxmoor Copse (Woodland Trust).

A moderate, undulating walk. Mostly field paths and woodland edge. Two short roadside sections. For further information or for help travelling to the Starting point, 'phone 07870 949079.
