This walk will have some great views from Coombe Hill, Whiteleaf Hill, Beacon Hill and Chequers Knapp but some very steep inclines and declines focused on Coombe Hill, Pulpit Hill and Beacon Hill. This is a challenge walk and demanding so is only suitable for walkers with above average fitness and a good sense of balance. It could be a useful training walk if you are preparing yourself for some strenuous walking and moderate scrambling, depending on the effectiveness of your traction on steep ground which can be weather dependent. Strong walking boots with good grip are essential.
Third in a series of 3 strenuous walks, each of which will increase in length.
We will stop for refreshment quite early on in the walk for a hot or cold drink and the opportunity of a hot breakfast bap etc. at Buckmoorend Farm Shop and also stop for a packed lunch later on. We may call in for a drink at the Russell Arms in Butlers Cross after the walk.
Well behaved dogs are allowed.
