A lovely walk through unspoilt scenery along Farthing Downs and Woodlands descending into Happy Valley (undulating) with stunning views. We then have a lunch stop at The Fox Pub on Coulsdon Common (time for Snacks Menu as only a 45 minute stop). A delightful afternoon walk, mostly flat, taking in some exotic farm animals and Spring flowers as we head via North Downs Way towards Chaldon Church which is renowned for its twelfth-century wall painting which is the oldest Doom painting in the UK. We then head home walking through Happy Valley which has one short steep hill. Coffee and cake shop at the end of the walk.
Ample permissive street parking on Sundays as no permits required on Downs Road at the start of the walk. Meet 9.30am at the cattle grid at the end of Downs Road at the entrance to Farthing Downs.
Must book with leader if you would like to eat in the pub 3 days prior to the walk or the day before for the walk only. Please text Gaynor 07949 692999
