A beautiful, countryside walk through glorious woodland, with lovely views of stately manor houses and an historical monument full of myths & legends. The walk starts at Stansted Park, passing by Stansted House and on through Monarch's Way to Lordington House. From here, the walk takes a short incline up to Racton Monument and onwards back to Stansted Park.
A mainly level walk, with toilet facilities at the start/end of walk. Free parking - take the first carpark on the RHS as you approach the main car parking to the Garden Centre. Free access to the Pavilion Tearoom in the heart of the walled garden, Farm Shop, Garden Centre, Maze and Miniature Railway. Well worthwhile visiting at the end of the walk, even if just to enjoy the delicious coffee and cake in the Pavilion Tearoom with lots of outside seating on a warm, sunny day. No dogs.
