This varied circular walk is largely flat with just 370ft of ascent. We start by heading towards Edgbarrow Woods Nature Reserve and Wildmoor Heath, before following the Three Castles Path past Broadmoor Hospital and crossing the Devil's Highway into Crowthorne Woods. We return to the station via Heath Lake and East Berkshire Golf Course. After the walk, there's the opportunity for coffee and cakes at the U Bakery, which is opposite the station.
Please note that the walk may be muddy in places. Please bring a packed lunch and drink as usual.
Starts at 10:15am from outside the Post Office on the corner of St Francis Close and Duke's Ride, opposite the eastern entrance to Crowthorne railway station.
Parking at the railway station car park costs £2.00 for the day, but there is usually some roadside parking available at Wellington Business Park (3-4 minutes walk away) and other nearby roads.
The 09:50 train from Reading to Redhill stops at Crowthorne at 10:04. Return trains to Reading leave at 37 minutes past the hour. Please check www.nationalrail.co.uk nearer the time in case the timetables have changed.
