The walk will start from the Seven Sisters Country Park car park.
After the briefing, we will cross the busy A259 and head east of the Cuckmere River toward the coast. We use the South Downs Way climbing up Exceat Hill, then down to the Foxhole close to the river, then climb up to the clifftop path along the Seven Sisters.
We follow the undulating clifftop path, being aware of the steep drop / chance of landslides as far as Brass Point.
Our route then turns inland, vague in parts, in a NEerly direction over mainly sheep grazing grassland. It follows Flagstaff Brow east of Crowlinkthen, via a quiet road, to the A259 which we cross at a crossroadsjust west of Friston / East Dean.
Here we enter the Friston Forest and follow forest tracks in a NWesterly direction to West Dean and our start point , the Seven Sisters Country Park car park.
Depending on the weather, we may decide to do the walk in the clockwise instead of anti-clockwise direction.
From Brighton, the Seven Sisters Country Park is accessible by bus 12X.
Assistance dogs only on this walk please.
