We are the Chelmer & Blackwater Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
UPDATED after Wednesday's recce (Note: change of starting point to Blakes Wood): A lovely, varied, undulating walk; woodland with autumn colours just beginning, fields and path by the River Chelmer. You may wish to bring poles as this path may be slippery in places after recent rain. Only two stiles. There will be 5 miles before lunch at Paper Mill Lock, with picnic benches and a tea room; followed by 5 miles to return to Blakes Wood.
