Overview

This beautiful walk begins by skirting around and enjoying the views of what is described as the natural amphitheatre of the Devil's Punch Bowl taking in the significance of the Sailor's Stroll and the memorials of the Sailor's Stone and Gibbett Hill. Proceeding beyond the Bowl rim and valley we descend into a lower plain coming across places such as Boundless Copse, the serenity of Bowlhead Green, Halnacker Cottage and High Button. The ascent back to Hindhead begins from around this area and, though it can be a little tiring, taking short breaks as required enables this climb not to be overburdensome.
