Overview

We will take a circuitous route to St Mary’s Farm and after a stretch of road walking head up onto Balmer Down before descending again.  There is then another uphill stretch to reach Mount Harry and Blackcap before returning via the SDW.  Much of this walk is on tracks but there are some sections that may be muddy.  It is a rather exposed circuit and if it is going to be very cold, wet, windy or a combination of these the walk will be reduced in length, to about 7 miles, and done as a brisk morning walk.  Please check the listing the previous evening.
