Overview

Meeting in Waverley Station we’ll ascend Jacob’s Ladder, heading to the top of Calton Hill to enjoy magnificent views of the city. Passing many historical structures and monuments we will then head east to explore the grounds of Holyrood including the ruins of Holyrood Abbey and the Queen’s old bathhouse. Past the Scottish Parliament and Dynamic Earth, we will visit some secret gems of the old city, pausing for a coffee/toilet break during the walk. At the end of the walk, those who wish to imbibe may visit an Edinburgh hostelry for refreshments and/or food.
