Overview

 

This will be a new , first time walk for our group. 

Full steam ahead for this First  Class walk at New Ellerby. This attractive flat walk begins from the  Rail Trail car park at New Ellerby.From the car park we walk along part of the Trans Pennine Trail, and Hornsea Rail Trail.The first station we call at is Whitedale, see photo  below and then onto Hatfield disused Station. From Hatfield, we walk along field edges and hedgerows  and arrive at Folly Lane track. From here we arrive at Oak Cottage Plantation and head back to New Ellerby along the Rail Trail.

🥾  New walkers are always welcome to join our walks.Please ask the walk leader for an "Incase of Emergency  Card ( ICE Card) if you do not have one.                                         If you are not a member of The Ramblers, it is expected to join after 2/3 walks.Membership forms are supplied if needed.                           

🅿️  Parking available.If the Rail Trail car park is full,we have been given  kind permission to park our cars at the Railway Inn car park which is nearby.The Railway Inn is closed on Mondays. 

🐦 This walk offers walking along large areas of bush land suitable for birds and bird song. At the time of recce  4th March 2025, Robin,Chaffinch, Skylark,Blackbird ,Woodpigeon,Crow and Song Thrush could be heard.
