This attractive South Ferriby walk starts at the South Ferriby Vikings Bowls Club car park. They have kindly agreed to let us use it.
We make our way towards Ferriby Sluice ,then along the edge of the River Ancholme to Horkstow Bridge. The Bridge is a fine example of an early chain link suspension bridge built in 1836 (see photo). From here we walk towards historic Horkstow village church, Saxby All Saints .(see photo).
At the church we commence up the hill via an ancient track way across access land to a quiet lane at the top of the hill.
We then walk along The Viking Way, back towards South Ferriby. We make our way towards the river Humber along a quiet track , turning onto the Humber Bank and returning to the car park.
