Overview

A full day's walk through peaceful open country in East Herts, starting and ending along parts of the Stort Valley Walk.  Mostly level walking with a few gentle climbs.  Option to return either via Pishiobury Park or a longer stretch of the Stort towpath.

Mud is inevitable in this season, so good use can be made of wellingtons and walking poles if you have them.  A few bits of minor-road walking and one alongside a main road.  

Please bring a packed lunch.  Most of the walk is through relatively remote country so there will be no pub or cafe stops before the end.

Meet outside main station entrance on west side of railway line. Parking in station car park (£4) or in side roads on west side. Suggested train: 0840 from Tottenham Hale, change to replacement bus at Waltham Cross, arriving Sawbridgeworth 1009.
