Join us for a scenic circular walk starting from Standon, a historic East Hertfordshire village with a stunning Grade I listed church, first mentioned in 944 AD.
The route meanders through the Standon Lordship nature reserve, follows the River Rib, and takes in open fields with far-reaching views, woodland, and the hamlet of Latchford. Gentle hills and mostly firm and relatively flat terrain make for an enjoyable walk, though conditions may be slightly muddy after heavy rain.
The walk is in two sections:
• Morning: ~5.5–6 miles, returning to Standon for a picnic lunch. Those preferring a shorter walk can finish here.
• Afternoon: ~4 miles for those continuing.
Please bring a packed lunch and drinks.
