The Ashridge Boundary Trail is an iconic trail but at just under 17 miles for the whole thing, might be considered too long to comfortably enjoy in a day’s walk. This walk is the first of two and takes in the southern section of the route, from the Visitor Centre down towards Northchurch, out to Frithsden and returning via Golden Valley and Ashridge House. The terrain is hilly, through woodland and across commons with a mix of surfaces underfoot (often muddy even in the summer).
Free parking and toilets are available at the Ashridge Visitor Centre by the Bridgwater Monument. Bring a packed lunch and drinks. There is a cafe at the Visitor Centre.
Meet at the Visitor Centre, Ashridge, HP4 1LX. There is free parking.
Participants on this walk need to have suitable footwear and equipment and be able to walk the distance and terrain so please consider this before booking. If you are unsure then please contact the walk leader before booking to ascertain whether this walk is suitable for you.
The leader has set a limit of 20 walkers and requires you to book. If your plans change please let the leader know in case there is a waiting list. Your details will be used solely for the purpose of the walk and will then be destroyed.
