Overview

A walk over the Berkshire Downs following the Ridgeway path and then turning towards Aldworth, where we will have our lunch. The route back to Goring ends with a steep climb, and a view over the Thames, before a steep descent, and recrossing the Thames into Goring. Apart from this climb the walk is through undulating downs, farmland and woods.  Please make use of the toilets on train, or for those using the Elizabeth Line at Reading station.

Train: Paddington 9:38; Reading 10.24 arr Goring&Streatley 10.38 (Didcot Parkway Train).  Buy Return to Goring&Streatley.
