We’ll meet in the car park at Goring. From there we’ll cross the River Thames and head for the high ground above Streatley. The landscape is a mixture of woodland, farmland and open spaces. After exploring the western side of the Thames we’ll cross back to Goring in time for a picnic lunch. There are also cafes and pubs in this attractive small town plus public toilets. After lunch we’ll explore the eastern side of the Thames. We’ll finish the walk with a stroll along the banks of the Thames back into Goring.
This is a hilly walk but there are good stretches of easy walking. The ground is firm, although in some wooded areas there are still muddy patches to be found.
The leader is happy to give a lift to three members from Ickenham Library Car Park. Please let the leader know if you would like a lift.
