From the Abbey we walk along a track for a short distance and then a long climb of nearly a mile on a quiet country road. After a short stop to recover from our exertions we are rewarded with superb views as we walk across fields. A short climb leads to a mixture of woods and rough fields. Proceeding downwards (If wet it can be slippery and walking poles are recommended) we cross more fields until we reach Winchcombe. Here we have our lunch stop. We retrace our steps through the town to take the riverside walk and then along a lane that leads onto more fields with more excellent views back along a quiet road to our starting point.
