The penultimate part of the Ver Valley Walk, is a shorter, more urban section than the others. We will walk around the southern outskirts of St Albans, then across fields to join the River Ver. Following it to Sopwell and then on to St Albans, where we will end the walk looking at some of the historical sights in Verulamium Park.
Please bring a drink and a snack for a short break mid-walk.
Meet on the grassy bank on Mayne Avenue, St Albans, AL3 4JB near the pedestrian crossing into Verulamium Park. There is plenty of free parking along Mayne Avenue.
Participants on this walk need to have suitable footwear and equipment and be able to walk the distance and terrain so please consider this before booking. If you are unsure then please contact the walk leader before booking to ascertain whether this walk is suitable for you. Please remember to bring along your ICE (In Case of Emergency) card with details of emergency contacts, medical conditions and medications.
The leader has set a limit of 18 walkers and requires you to book. If your plans change please let the leader know in case there is a waiting list. Your details will be used solely for the purpose of the walk and will then be destroyed.
