A circular walk through Hanham Mills.
Starting from the Chequers Inn, we follow the river bank then climb up from the River Avon through Bickley Wood which has a few ups and downs, some steps and loose stony ground. A short section of the walk will be roadside before leading us through the picturesque Hanham Court and Cleeve Wood. This slightly elevated section of the walk gives great views towards Bath and Kelston Round Hill.
We then make our way back down towards the river bank which we follow with the red brick Cadbury factory on the opposite bank. The walk ends with a leisurely stroll across the fields bringing us back to the Chequers Inn car park.
Several stiles on route and one field with livestock. Walking poles are advisable if you have them.
At the time of walking this route, the Old Lock and Weir was closed for refurbishment. If still closed, we can have a drink in the Chequers.
