A linear walk to St Albans City Station led by Pam C (Mobile No: 07538 509205) joint with Kensington, Chelsea & Westminster and Hammersmith, Fulham & Wandsworth Groups through parks, common land, the newly established Heartwood forest with countryside views, the pretty Childwickbury country estate, with views also out to another estate, Gorehambury and the historic city of St Albans. Lunch Stop: Sandridge village, where there are three public houses, a tearoom and a churchyard with a few benches for picnic lunches. Please bring food with you, as there may not be time for a pub lunch.
Drop-out points: There are infrequent buses from Sandridge to St Albans or Harpenden, including the 357 to St Albans at 13.06 and the 304 to St Albans at 14.56.
Check trains the day before. Buy Off-Peak Day Return to Harpenden.
