Overview

Join us to enjoy the magical charm of the timeless Swainswick and Woolley valley. We cross lush green fields to reach the exceptionally beautiful St Mary Magdalene Church at Langridge, and continue along a quiet lane and across meadows to join the Cotswold Way up to the site of the 1643 Battle of Lansdown Hill. Then we cross farmland to get back to Lansdown Road.

Please bring a drink and snack for a short coffee stop along the way.

We pass the Charlcombe Inn very near the end of the walk, so walkers can either get straight back to the Park and Ride, or stop for refreshments at the pub first.

The leader has walked this route many times and has never experienced any problems with the horses, sheep, and dairy cattle in the fields we pass through but, because of the livestock, dogs are not permitted on this walk.
