Guided Ramblers walk in Holmfirth - renowned location of the TV classic Last of the Summer Wine - in the heart of the Holme Valley in West Yorkshire. The cost of £15.00 includes return travel from Central Manchester and a choice of 3 led walks of different lengths. You must book and pay for your ticket in advance but you can decide how far you want to walk when you get on the coach.
Coach leaves Chorlton Street at 8.50 am, picking up in Sedgeley Park at 09.15, Prestwich at 09.20 and Hyde Town Hall at 9.35 (NB - No toilet stop en route)
WALK DETAILS
Long Walk (Strenuous - led by Mary - 11 miles) Linear walk from Milton Lodge on A628 near Langsett: Snow Rd, Windle Edge, Winscar Reservoir, Harden, Snailsden Reservoir, Crow Hill, Holmbridge, Holmfirth. Ascent 1300 ft, highest point 1489 ft
Medium Walk (Moderate - led by Ian - 8.5 miles) Circular walk: Holmfirth, Upperthong, Holmbridge, Hade Edge, Cartworth. Holmfirth. Ascent 1538 ft
Short Walk (Easy - led by Geoff - 5 miles) Circular walk: Holmfirth, along the River Holme to Upper Stubbin, Burnlee, Upperthong, Back Lane, Under Hill, Holmfirth.
The coach will be parked at the Leisure Centre, outside Holmfirth, during the day.
The coach will leave Holmfirth at 5.30 p.m. returning via Hyde Town Hall, Prestwich, and Sedgely Park, and estimated to be back at Chorlton Street around 7.30 p.m.
