Overview

 

The coach leaves Chorlton Street at 8.50 am prompt, picking up in Sedgley Park at 09.10 and Prestwich at 09.15. Toilet stop at Burton Services (NB: Timings  for pick-up points are approximate - please be at the pick-up point at least 5 mins early)

 

Three led walks:

Long Walk (Strenuous) Leader: Mary C 12 miles
Circular: High level walk around Derwentwater. Keswick, Castlerigg, Walla Crag (1234ft), Ashness Bridge, Lodore Falls, Great Bay, Manesty, steep ascent and descent of Cat Bells (1466ft), Brandlehowe, Hawes End, Keswick. Total ascent 2898ft.

 

Medium Walk (Easy/Moderate) Leader: Ian 8.75 miles
Circular: Low level walk around Derwentwater. It will start at Moot Hall in Market Square then to Portinscale, Hawse End, the Entrust sculpture at Brandlehow, Squirrel Nutkin below Cat Bells, Chinese Bridge over precious wetland, Lodore, Ashness Bridge, the Nat Trust 100 year stone, Ruskin Memorial at Friars Crag. Total ascent 680ft.

 

Short Walk (Easy) Leader: Dave G 6½ miles
Circular: Market Square then the Cumbria Way to Mallen Dodd, Brundholme, Briery, Winderbrowe, Keswick. Total ascent 700ft.

 

The coach will leave Keswick (main car park) at 6.00 p.m. prompt

The ground may be muddy so please wear suitable footwear. Please bring a change of shoes, boot covers or something to clean your boots before getting back on the coach.
