We are the High Weald Walkers Group. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The walk will follow tracks, lanes and paths along the tops of the Downs and over fields, with good views if the weather is kind. We will start with a downhill section to Westmeston and take in Streat and East Chiltington and Plumpton Racecourse. One gradual uphill stretch just before our picnic lunch then walking back along the ridge on the South Downs Way. The ice cream van will await us in the car park!

Meet at Ditchling Beacon NT car park. Note: the post code is for the area and not the car park. Best approach from the Beacon car park from Ditchling, travel south taking the Beacon Road. Ignore the first car park you come to i.e.the Underhill Lane Car Park, continue up Ditching Borstall which is a 2 lane tarmacked windy road up to the Ditchling Beacon car park which is on the right hand side. NT members park free with use of NT card - please bring it with you. Otherwise it’s £6 cash, or online. NOTE: if you approach the area from the south on the A27 there are roadworks on the A27 and considerable delays.
