Overview

Starting at historic Boultham Park, route goes alongside the River Witham and across Lincoln's South Common to the International Bomber Command Centre. The return is via the Viking Way to Bracebridge Heath and then back to Boultham Park.

The coffee stop will be at the Bomber Command Centre where there is a cafe.

We will have time to explore the grounds around the Centre (free entry) but not to the museum.

No life stock was present on the pre-walk, however dogs are not permitted.

There is only one hill and boot are recommended as some paths are uneven in places.

Starting point is the car park at the end of Hall Drive Lincoln. From Collingham take Station Rd to the A46, turn left towards Lincoln. At the Hykeham (Pennells) Roundabout keep on the A46 to the Skellingthorpe Roundabout. At this roundabout take the 4 exit signed Birchwood contine along this road for approx 2 mile passing over a level crossing. At the next roundabout take the first left onto Boultham Park Rd. After 150yds turn right onto Western Avenue, at the end turn right onto Hall Drive. The car park is ahead on the left. Allow 35 mins from Collingham. Please note anyone coming along the A57 maybe affected by roadwork and are adviced to turn right onto the A46 at the Carholme Roundabout and then take second left at the Skellingthorpe Roundabout.
