This walk is rescheduled from 23 Nov 2024, as due to bad weather the original walk had to be cancelled. It will initially only be offered to walkers who signed up for the November walk.
The journey begins at the Riverside Museum, where we'll set off along the Kelvin Walkway, tracing the path of the River Kelvin as it flows through the city. The early part of the walk takes us under impressive bridges and past iconic landmarks. As we pass through the vibrant West End, we’ll enjoy the lush greenery of Kelvingrove Park and catch glimpses of the majestic Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
In Maryhill we leave the Kelvin Walkway and climbing up to reach the Maryhill Locks on the Forth and Clyde Canal. The canal towpath is then used along the branch towards the city centre, before cutting back to the side through the streets of Kelvinside. We will finish at Great Western Road near Kelvinbridge Subway Station. Plenty of cafes are around for those who want to stay for a coffee.
Meeting Point: Riverside Museum entrance at 9:40 AM
Start time: 10:00 AM
Estimated Finish time: 15:00
