Overview

A leisurely walk starting in Kinoulton, heading towards Colston Bassett, then Hickling and returning to Kinoulton via the Grantham Canal.

We will be walking on farm tracks, through fields, along the canal path with some short sections of road walking.

There are some stiles and footbridges over ditches and through hedgerows.

Some sections were overgrown so boots and long trousers are recommended. There was no livestock in any of the fields and so well controlled dogs are welcome.

There will be  coffee and lunch stops so please bring your own refreshments.

Also there is a pub at the end of the walk should anyone wish to have a drink.

The starting point for the walk is the green in front of the Nevile Arms in Kinoulton. Please park on the street near the pub. Kinoulton is 19mls (23mins) south of Newark off the A46. Head south on the A46 away from Newark, past Bingham and come off at the junction signed to Owthorpe. Turn left drive through Owthorpe until you come to a cross roads, turn right down Cropwell Road and follow this road into Kinoulton and park near the pub. NG12 3EH.
