This is a lovely walk from Lamington up to the Cowgill Reservoir. Parking is at Lamington Holy Trinity Chapel, post code ML12 6HW, What3words code is blotches.months.tequila . We walk from there through some housing, across a busy road. Then uphill on footpath and over field where a coffee break will be had before walking to the country road which leads to the reservoir itself where lunch will be taken.
