The walk starts from Navenby Methodist Church, LN5 0EN, where we have permission to park in their forecourt.
The route which is just over 5 miles long follows an old Roman Road along a grassy track, then turns into Coleby where we can have a comfortable coffee break on the many seats at the playing field.
We then turn onto the Ridge, with splendid views for the remainder of the walk back to Navenby, via the pretty village of Boothby Graffoe.
There is no lunch stop, but we should be back by 1pm. There are several cafes in Navenby should you wish to eat there.
The walk is mainly flat, with a few very gentle rises. You will be pleased to know that the stiles have been replaced by gates!
You may be lucky enough to see yellowhammers in the hedgerows and hunting birds such as the buzzard and kestrel from the ridge, maybe even a red kite. An extra treat might be the red arrows practising just overhead!
Please register for this walk on Newark Ramblers website where you will also find details of our car share scheme.
