Overview

Linear walk using bus. Park in Chagford car park and meet in the Square at 9.45am to catch the 9.54am bus. We get off at South Zeal and walk back to Chagford.

From South Zeal we walk uphill to the moor and Cosdon Stone Row, where we'll stop for a coffee break. From here we walk across open  moorland to Shilstone Tor, then wend our way back to Chagford on quiet lanes and woodland paths via Aysha, Forder, joining the Dartmoor Way, Providence, Gidleigh Mill and Murchington.

Typical Dartmoor walk - ups and downs, wet and rough underfoot. The path from South Zeal to Cosdon is a stream, waterproof boots essential. Lanes, paths and tracks, stream crossings. No stiles.

Please text leader if you wish to join the walk. Possible lift available from Pixon Lane car park by prior arrangement with leader
