We are the Tawe Trekkers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This walk passes through the Village of Llangattock before entering the canal towpath. We pass a beautiful Giant Redwood and soon after leave the towpath to ascend Llangattock Mountain enjoying views of the surrounding countryside. Following our descent from the Trig point we pass through an old quarry where we will take lunch. We then ascend to the valley floor passing crags and cave systems. We return to the start following the river through farmland and eventually a beautiful churchyard.
There is an area of nettles alongside the footpath on the ascent up the mountain so keeping your legs well covered is advised. Dogs are welcome and as always will need to be on a lead where livestock is present. The same walk last year attracted quite a few walkers. There will be an opportunity for refreshments after the walk. Toilet facilities are available at the canal but nothing after that.
