Come and explore the beautiful Llnclys ridge, see the views from the top of the quarry, down to explore some Shropshire archaeology at the old lime kilns then back up to the ridge and the cars.
The terrain is good paths and a short section along a road on a pavement. Coming down from the bottom of the quarry is very steep. Poles advised for these short sections but not at all essential. This walk is for early January so be prepared for mud, cold and rain.
There is a small parking area but I expect it to be busy or full. There are some residential streets nearby, I've checked google maps and there should be enough for all. That said, and especially as this is further away from Shrewsbury, car sharing where possible is encouraged.
OS maps gives a walking time of 2.5 hours, but with breaks and time spend looking at the archaeology I expect us to be finished in about 4 hours.
Dogs are welcome, they should be on a lead in sections as we cross a golf course and walk alongside a main road.
