This is the first section of the London to Brighton long distance trail which we will be walking every month until we reach the sea in September.
The walk starts in the suburbs of south London but soon reaches attractive Surrey countryside with parks, fields and woods, including ancient Banstead Wood. The route is quite undulating and is likely to be muddy in places at this time of year but generally the paths are good. We will have a coffee/toilets break at Oaks Park cafe but please bring a picnic lunch as the rest of the route is quite isolated.
Recommended trains: either London Victoria 9.30, arrive Carshalton Beeches 10.13, or London Bridge 9.55, arrive 10.24.
