A loop of approx 12 miles linking three West Berkshire villages. From the car park, we head east through mixed woodland and across farmland to Rushall Manor Farm, where we stop for coffee. We continue east to Bradfield, turning south through the College grounds. We than head west to Rotten Row and on to Stanford Dingley for a lunch stop. We continue west, following the River Pang before turning north through Hawkridge Wood back to Frilsham and the start.
The route mainly follows well established and maintained woodland paths and estate/farm tracks. There are two notable exceptions, one across an area of pasture that is likely to be quite soggy underfoot, and a short narrow uphill section of woodland path where the centre of the path has been eroded by water making it quite tricky to navigate. There are four stiles, one requiring quite a high step up and several gates, two of the kissing gates being quite tight. An undulating route with 300m of ascent, plenty of good views and maybe the opportunity to see some early bluebells. We are likely to encounter a varied selection of local livestock including at least one group of Alpacas.
Please bring food and drink for the day to include a morning coffee and lunch stops
