From the car park we head through Lardon Down and Common Wood before dropping down into the Thames Valley at Streatley. Here we join the Thames Path which we follow to Moulsford. Turning west we head up onto downland for a loop around Moulsford Downs including two short sections of the Ridgeway Path. Finally we cross the Goring and Streatley golf course back to the start.
Notwithstanding the section of Thames Path, this is a fairly “lumpy” route (315m of ascent). Whilst most of the paths are in good condition the going underfoot will include everything from frozen rutted to mushy muddy paths depending on whether the sun has managed to get to them. The Thames Path is generally in good condition, and dry, with the exception of one short section with a mix of large tree roots and mud! The route includes a number of gates and no stiles.
At the time of writing the weather forecast looks dry and bright however it can be quite chilly in the shady sections and if there is any wind across the downland so please bring appropriate clothing for all eventualities
This walk is limited to 16 so please use the link to book your place
Please bring food and drink for the day to include morning coffee and lunch stops
