A semi urban walk using the surprising green spaces on our doorstep. From the car park we walk south following Blue Bell Beck, probably the most beautiful of Middlesbrough’s beck valleys. We then reach and circle Hemlington Lake set in open parkland. After a short walk north, we divert westwards towards Stainton village passing through Maellors wood. We then head North again using lanes and tracks to pass the site of the mediaeval village of Stainsby before returning to the car park in Acklam.
There will be a ten minute break. Please feel free to bring a drink/snack to enjoy.
Assistance dogs only.
Livestock were present in two of the fields when the recce was done but showed no interest.
