We are the Ipswich and District Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
From the river at Manningtree we will head to Mistley Church & then on green lanes walk to New Mistley. There we will join the Essex Way & turn back on ourselves walking all the way to Lawford Church, stopping to look at Old Knobbly!
At Lawford Church we will go downhill to Manningtree Station & on to the White Bridge alongside the busy A137 before we head back to Manningtree along the river wall.
The route can be muddy in places, there are no stiles. We will be walking on footpaths, green lanes, quiet roads & pavements.
My concern is going under the railway bridge as there isn't a pavement but a lined area for pedestrians to use. Therefore please go in single file & be aware of the traffic. Those who wish to bring a dog please consider this concern.
Please park along the road just out of Manningtree towards Mistley, called The Walls. Or in the public car park in Kiln Lane.
Please meet me on the pavement just beyond the food van.
