Overview

This is a fairly flat walk in a figure of eight and in the morning, the first 5.5 miles of the walk will be walking around Hazeley Heath and Hazeley Bottom, where we will be passing some WWll relics.  We will then return to the start car park at 12:30 where those preferring a shorter walk can join us at the car park in time for our packed lunch on the green. The second part of the walk, after lunch, is a gentle 4.5 miles taking in St.Stephen's Green and Elvetham Hall Church, before returning to Hartney Wintney.

Please would everyone bring a picnic lunch for this memorial walk, which is a tribute to our friend and fellow walker, the late John Balmer, who died recently.  John often led walks in the Hartney Wintney area for our club and for his neighbours and friends.  There is an optional pub at the end of walk for refreshments, where we can raise a glass to John.  Dogs on leads most welcome.  Meet at Monachus Lane car park for a 10:00 am start, for those who wish to do the 5.5 mile morning walk or the 10 mile full day walk.   For those joining us at 12:30 pm you will be met at the Monachus Lane car park and we will walk to the cricket green in Hartney Wintney, close to the Cricketers pub, where we will join our fellow walkers for a picnic lunch.
