Walking in and around Farnham
We are a friendly active group of over 500 members, centred around the historic town of Farnham in Surrey. Our location on the Surrey/Hampshire border, and close to West Sussex, provides excellent varied walking in the beautiful Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, North East Hampshire, and South Downs National Park.
You are welcome to join us for a couple of walks before joining the Ramblers. Once a member, you will be able to take advantage of the extensive range of walks we offer across the week, with some days offering two walks of different length and pace.
Our walks are led by experienced Walk Leaders, and range between 3 and 12 miles. The walks are displayed on our group website, with start date/time, start location, distance, suitability for dogs, and walk leader contact details.
Join our walking community
Apart from our local walks, we also run walks further afield, with day outings by coach or train, and week-long walking holidays based in great locations around the UK. We also hold various events throughout the year, including breakfast walks, finishing with a fry-up somewhere, pub garden summer evening socials, quizzes and talks.
If you are keen to volunteer, we are always looking for new walk leaders, additional members to join our footpath maintenance team, and committee members so please let us know. We offer navigation training sessions for new walk leaders.
For more information on our group activities, please visit our website and Facebook pages. No experience is necessary, just sturdy footwear and an enthusiasm to get out into the beautiful countryside and make new friends. We look forward to meeting you.
