An enjoyable ramble through a mixture of parkland, farmland and open country, with some lovely views on the way. From Mickleton our route climbs steadily uphill, past Kiftsgate Court, and then onto Hidcote. From there we follow the Monarch’s Way going downhill and then making a broad sweep round the flanks of Meon Hill, via village of Upper Quinton, and then across fields back to Mickleton.
See weblink below for a map of the route
Note: for those interested there will be the option for refreshments at the nearby Kings Arms pub afterwards.
A moderate climb to start with but otherwise easy walking, mostly on good tracks and paths. Around half a dozen stiles, a couple slightly awkward. Likely to meet sheep and/or cattle in a couple of fields. Suitable for well-behaved dogs on leads.
