Milngavie to Mugdock Park Circular

A leisurely walk from Milngavie Train Station to Mugdock Country Park via the West Highland Way path. See description and link below for more route details.

• Meeting point: Milngavie Train Station, G62 8PG
• Meeting time: 10.30am (or when train arrives)
• Distance: 7.5 miles
• Ascent : 285m
• Duration: Walk 2.5-3 hours, plus time for lunch. We'll return to Milngavie roughly 3pm (possibly earlier depending on pace).
• Terrain: Mostly forest trails and country park paths. In wetter conditions, the path can be very muddy. Appropriate footwear is required.
• Difficulty: Leisurely walk

Starting at Milngavie Train Station, we'll head out along the West Highland Way and into Mugdock Country Park. The route passes Mugdock Castle and Loch before reaching the visitor centre where we will stop for lunch. Cafe's and toilets are available here, or you can bring a packed lunch. We'll head back via Craigend Castle and the site of a WW2 anti-aircraft battery before re-tracing our steps back via the West Highland Way. We'll finish the walk at Milngavie Train Station.
