Fairyland Valley Park provides a variety of habitats which support a range of wildlife. In addition to the traditional short grass swards, it also benefits from woodland, a network of lakes, long grass swards and grassland which provides a home to the Great Green Bush Cricket – the only colony in Hertfordshire.
Hampson Park is an historical parkland in Stevenage named after local Olympian, Thomas Hampson. Thomas Hampton (28 October 1907 – 4 September 1965) was an English athlete, winner of the 800 metres at the 1932 Summer Olympics and the first man to run 800 metres in under 1 minute 50 seconds.
Hampson park is the highest point in Stevenage, with great views across the town and surrounding countryside.
