Overview

A walk to explore the WW2 gunnery school remains beyond Llys Helig Drive.

Saturday, 3 May 2025
Start time:
10:00 am
Estimated finish time:
1:00 pm
Difficulty:
Moderate
Distance:
6.4km / 4.0mi
Ascent:
N/A
Type:
circular

We will follow the footpath above Marine Drive then walk to explore the gunnery school site including the 'pill box' (above Hornby cave)

Local Grade C because the footpath behind the toll house is uneven with awkward steps and the path to the far 'pill box' is less well made.

There will be a short break for a drink and/or snack. We will finish before lunch.

This is the Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza weekend. Roads close near the North Shore and buses may be diverted. Usually the 5/5D buses stop at West Shore and there is decent parking. Parking should be ok at this time of day

A morning walk leaves time to visit the Extravaganza if you wish
