We leave the Car park (pay and display) and head South West until after just over a mile we reach the A4215 road. We very briefly walk along the road and then head North West across open country, eventually joining a former Roman Road and after 750 metres, we stop for coffee. Continuing along the Roman Road for a further 2.7 kms before we head up towards the summit (a gentle hill) and we stop there for lunch with great views north. We then retrace our steps for about 1/2 km before heading directly back to the Mountain Centre.
There is virtually no place to shelter along large parts of this walk, adequate layers and waterproofs are essential along with sturdy boots. The first km is often flooded and we will need to pick our steps carefully ! This walk is easy and should be suitable for most capabilities.
