We are the Brighton and Hove Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Continuing our exploration of the North Downs Way, we start from the lovely Surrey village of Gomshall before visiting Shere at the foot of the steep chalk ridge which we will ascend head on! From the top we then progress along a much flatter path through a mix of wooded and open sections until we descend again to Dorking.
Please bring water and a picnic as the pubs/cafes will be either too early or towards the end of the walk. One strenuous climb (150m), mainly good tracks and a few tarmac lane stretches. Lovely wooded sections mean mud is possible in a few spots.

Brighton station, by the central coffee stand (deps 0944)- or at Gatwick for the Gomshall train (dep 1029)
Outside Gomshall station on Station Approach. Walkers travelling separately from leader should make contact in case this linear walk is reversed on the day. Accessible by public transport NB. Linear walk. drivers should join us on the train at Deepdene and travel by train to Gomshall (departs 1052) or arrange a lift back to the start.
